PRIVATE ART LESSONS

Weekly, monthly, and one off private art lessons available.

Private art lessons offer a safe creative sanctuary for you to grow in as an artist, no matter where you are in your journey. You can explore new techniques, ask for expert feedback, and evolve your style all from the comfort of your home. Private art lessons can be held online via Zoom, or in-person on location. They can run for anywhere between one hour to a full day, much like an illustration workshop, but tailored specially for you, so you get the mentorship you need.

When hiring Katie to provide private art lessons you can expect:

  • an initial video call to say hi. If booking a face to face private art lesson (this is mandatory for all parties involved)

  • first face to face meetings to be held in a safe public space, for example, a coffee shop of your choice

  • mentorship delivered in a friendly, professional, and appropriate manner

  • safe, supportive, structured, interactive lesson plans when opting for longer term tutoring services

  • a bespoke lesson plan tailored to your creative journey and pursuits. Point Katie in the direction you would like to go with your art, and Katie will break the journey down into manageable steps

Private art lesson types:

One-off portfolio reviews

Portfolio reviews include a sit-down and chat about what you would like to achieve with your current portfolio and how to get it there. For example, someone wants to broaden their skillset with their artistic ability and feels overwhelmed with all of the medium choices, Katie would help break it down into manageable chunks. Giving guidance on how to approach different mediums such as acrylic paints, watercolour, or even digital.

Time required: 1 - 2 hours

Availability: online and offline on weekday evenings and weekends are available

Price: £60 per hour, travel costs may be required

One off lessons

One off lessons can feature everything you wish to learn about with art. A previous client wanted to focus on their line work so they could pre-plan where the light and shadows were going to hit on their artwork. One off lessons are ideal for when there is a specific element you wish to tackle. For example, backlighting and how the light hits the edges of the subject.

Time required: 1 - 12 hours (please ask)

Weekly, bi-weekly or monthly mentoring lessons

Recurring mentoring lessons are best for people who want to hone their skills in a specific area in a shorter amount of time than if learning alone through YouTube. Every lesson will conclude with some ‘homework’. Whether it’s reading a book, getting outside to draw from life, or concocting characters from the inner visual library you’re curating every day subconsciously.
